Announcements!
In addition to our enrichment/reinforcement packets that each grade level created, here are some other resources available to our kiddos to access from home!
Study Island: I can assign/reassign topics for practice/review/enrichment. The results will immediately be sent to me and I can review progress. Students are familiar with this platform. You can readily access it through Clever.
To access Clever, follow these minimal steps:
- Scroll to the bottom of the school district home page to the “Site Shortcuts” section.
- Click on “Clever.”
- Log in information is input in the following format:
- Username: 29lastname_firstname
- Password: Your child’s lunch number (pin number)
Additionally, students may access previously posted vocabulary lists from this school year including Module 8.1 and the two PSSA vocabulary lists posted before the mandated school closure. https://quizlet.com/MrsMonroe115 (Please disregard lists from previous years and focus on the content we’ve reviewed and practiced this year. Students know what those lists are, but if you have a question, please feel free to contact me for clarification.)
Another resource is Spelling City for our current spelling list 8.2 with the following link:
https://www.spellingcity.com/users/megmonroe. Students can also practice words from previous lists as well.
As always, please continue to snuggle up with good books to practice fluency and comprehension skills. Another quick tip is to include your son/daughter when reading recipes, magazines, instructions, and material of the sort. It’s a great way to not only practice core reading skills, but also spend some time together bonding! Please don’t forget about reading AR chapter books, too! That is great practice and reading application!
We will continue to update everyone as soon as information becomes available to us! Thanks for all you do! Love, Mrs. Monroe
